ARTIST STATEMENT

As an emerging artist, I create elegant, textured, mosaic-like mixed media works of art with abstract visual imagery inspired by nature, outer space, and mental health. My current technique consists of breaking large sheets of glass into small shards and placing them into a somewhat aimless pattern. Centered around my time spent living outdoors, I began learning more about myself as a human being. Spending my youth in the state of Minnesota, my deep fascination with nature became a starting point for my career in visual art. Leaving room for interpretation, these elements allow for a curious mind to wander and take time to reflect upon one's life choices.
