Oil and cold wax on a cradled birch board. 12" x 36"
My paintings start with playful, spontaneous exploration of line, marks, geometric and organic shapes. Working on birch cradled wood panels gives me the opportunity to add (and remove) both thick and thin layers of oil paint and cold wax medium to create both texture and depth. The direction of the painting starts to evolve as the layers start to build a story that resonates with me.
