Hawaii has a special feeling, as those who have visited can attest.
To an artist like myself who ordinarily lives in a cold climate, the softness and
the relaxed beauty took me by surprise. Nothing there has to rush to grow before the frost comes. There are soft rains and rainbows almost every afternoon.
So is it surprising that a series of paintings immediately came pouring forth?
I have painted the tropical variegated pineapple, the ti tree, papaya leaves, and the water of the ocean bay surface.
