ARTIST STATEMENT

 

I began painting in high school. My painting was driven by trying to create "the perfect painting". I would paint with a very specific result in mind. The process became arduous as I was so hyper-focused on the result. As any artist will tell you, they never turn out how you imagine.

Then I found vodka. Which did not help matters...at all.

 

10 years ago, after a nice little 28 day vacation, my passion for art was reignited.

 

I made a decision that I would paint with a technique and color scheme in mind only.  What happens happens.

 

What happened was that the process became an absolute thrill.  Painting became my renewed passion. I hope my art will be something that resonates with someone.

 

My ultimate goal is to paint something that people connect with and want in their homes.

 

I also like cats a LOT!
